Black people had been systematically stopped from voting by White voting registrars, but Cooper, dressed in one of her finest suits, was persistent. Civil rights legend John Lewis would later describe her as “upfront, pleasant and absolutely fearless,” and Oprah Winfrey would portray her character in the movie “Selma,” capturing Cooper and her determination that would exemplify the history of Black women fighting against racism and oppression and for political power in the United States. Tom Love cause of death: How did Tom Love die?

Tom Love, who became a billionaire by founding American truck-stop chain Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores, which has 600 locations in 42 states, has died. He was 85. Love’s branched into restaurants in the 1990s with the opening of a Taco Bell Express at an Oklahoma City location. It later added tire-repair shops and hotels to the growing list of amenities offered at some of its pit stops. Love’s is now the largest business of its kind still fully in family hands. United sued over death of giant bunny

Three Iowa businessmen are suing United Airlines over the death of a giant rabbit. The businessmen, who had purchased Simon, a continental rabbit, with the intent of showing him at the Iowa State Fair, claim United was negligent in the animal’s care and transportation aboard a flight from London to Chicago. Simon was found dead April 20 after being placed in a kennel run by United in Chicago’s O’Hare airport while awaiting a connecting flight to Kansas City. Read More...
