I’m staring at two new bottles that represent a tension at the heart of tequila. One is from Casamigos, the brand founded by actor George Clooney, entrepreneur and ex-model Rande Gerber and businessman Mike Meldman, which they sold to spirits giant Diageo in 2017 for a reported $1 billion. Its new bottle is a jalapeno-flavored blanco tequila under the feminized name Casamigas. Laura Biagiotti, Italian fashion designer and Queen of Cashmere, dies at 73

Laura Biagiotti, an Italian fashion designer who conquered global markets with her soft, loose women’s clothes and luxurious knits that won her the nickname “Queen of Cashmere,” died May 26 at a hospital in Rome. She was 73. She suffered a heart attack at her estate outside of Rome two days earlier, her family said.
